715 specials! PDF Print E-mail
Written by BlueJacket

The folks from 715 are running a special on our Chambourcin Reserve (which sat on oak for three years before we finally decided it was ready) and our Off-Dry Vignoles (which you may remember winning a gold at Finger Lakes.) If you haven't tried 715 yet, you really should; Their commitment to local, handmade, and micro-produced food is simply stunning. Everything is of an amazing quality, and we're honored to have our wines being served next to their delicious pastas and meats.  Check it out, you'll be glad you did!

Well we had a big day yesterday!

First a great article about us came out on Lawrence.com,

and then we had Fox4 News out to have a look at the

place. Seems like Kansas is getting excited about having

some award winning wineries to visit. Thanks to everyone

in our community for making our winemaking passion

such a success, you're the only reason we can be

out here doing this!

Cheers!

We'll be at this event, hope you can make it!

KU Environs is partnering with Films For Action to present a film screening of King Corn, a documentary that exposes the industrialization of corn and its effect on farmers, our environment, health and economy. Simran Sethi, journalist and KU journalism professor, will speak before the movie, and Curt Ellis, one of the filmmakers, will join us for a short Skype Q&A afterward. There will be a raffle at the event of local food and gift certificates from local businesses and Chipotle free burrito gift card door prizes. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and Simran will start us off at 7:00 p.m. There is a $3 suggested donation that will buy you a raffle ticket. 70% of all proceeds will go to Just Food, the primary food bank in Douglas County that fed 2,000 people last month.

Visit the facebook event for more information: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=204593486220799

Kansas is a player in the Jefferson Cup PDF Print E-mail

It's nice to know people in your community are good at what they do, isn't it?

This year 3 (count them: 3) Kansas Wineries brought home Jefferson Cups. This prestigious award has traditionally gone to more European-Style Vinifera producers, but in recent years has been landing at some fantastic American-Style wine producers.  Bluejacket is proud to be in that number for our '09 Seyval Reserve. A toast to our friends producing great wines in Kansas!
